Fishing

Located in the heart of northern Minnesota, Blackduck Lake is about 2,600 acres and 2 1/2 miles by 3 miles. It’s fairly shallow, protected, and has a depth of 25 to 30 feet. With a sandy bottom, bays and bars, it has good structure with an island in the center. The island is a bird sanctuary and hosts Bald Eagle nests each year.

Blackduck Lake is known for its great walleye fishing, plus northern pike, and jumbo perch. Blackduck Lake is ideal for the Minnesota fishing opener, as it warms up early. We also have 3 docks to fish from if you prefer to stay on shore. When you bring in your catch, use the fish house to fillet those “eaters” or confide in your neighbor about “the one that got away.”

Tomahawk Resort & RV Park  is also under a 30 – 90 minute drive to other nearby fantastic fisheries, including Lake of the Woods, Upper Red Lake, Leech Lake, Lake Bemidji, Lake Winnibigoshish (Winnie) and Cass Lake.
